Awesome look but middle of the road performance – there are better alternatives for noise cancellation and sound quality As a frequent flyer, I have tried just about every noise canceling headphone on the market. From the to the to lesser known sub-$100 models like . Monster is new to the noise canceling headphone market, but by pricing themselves at the $300 level, they are staking claim to the market position held so long by Bose. While my reviews generally don’t include price, the price is an important piece of the positioning and must be considered in totality with the package.I hope you find this review helpful even if it is not entirely positive on the headphones. Monster Inspiration vs Bose QC-15 – It Depends on the Intended Usage I originally wrote this review as a comparative between the Monster Inspiration, Bose QC-15 and Sennheiser PXC-450 headphones. After spending more time with the Monster phones I have decided to completely scrap my original review and focus just on the Monster and Bose comparison. Bose is the “gold standard” of noise canceling headphones so comparing against them makes sense. The Monster Inspiration headphone set is Monster’s first foray into the realm of active noise canceling (ANC) headphones. Wonderful! First thing first! 300 bucks in a lot to pay for ANY set of headphones. Don’t bother putting your family in debt for these because it isn’t worth it for any set of headphones at this price point. Same goes for the Beats! Same goes for the Bose! You’re paying for hype and if that bugs you then, I’m sorry, you shouldn’t be looking at any of these overpriced cans in the first place. If your favorite word in the Oxford Dictionary is “value” then don’t even read this review! Skip my review and watch random youtube videos. OK, now for my friends here who are seriously insane enough to shelf 300 bucks for headphones, Listen up! The Inspirations are it!Beats Studios? Ha! I love Dre, I still have my NWA tapes, but I’m sorry, Studios are mud wrapped in shiny plastic that rely on how awesome those triple A batteries are inside them things! Soon as those things go, you got a great shiny set of dead-beats! The only reason I would ever recommend the Beats over the Inspiration is if…
